Ellicott City, MD (Sept. 7,
2005)- Where do you start when you begin developing a community
that will have 4,500 homes and a population of 11,000 to 12,000?
This challenge was given to Koren Development Company, Inc. (KDC).
KDC has led Piney Orchard through its formative stages to the
present. The community boasts unique amenities including: a
15,000 square foot Community Center, an ice arena, day care
facility, a senior assisted living complex, a marketplace. It is
also home to the Piney Orchard Elementary School.
As a result, Piney Orchard has become a place for families to
live in a true community environment.
Steven S. Koren, President of Koren Development Company, Inc.,
states that when you develop a “city” such as Piney Orchard,
change constantly occurs. The needs of residents, the
environmental criteria, and the market conditions change
throughout the development process. Developing a community over
a 20-year period necessitates constant review of the project
never hesitating to think outside the box while making change if
warranted. However, this change cannot detract from the basic
obligation of creating a community in accordance with the
original vision.
Koren Development Company specializes in residential and
commercial land development. It is described as a company that
does full service development and is recognized throughout the
region for its efforts.
Steven S. Koren has been recognized numerous times, including
“Developer of the Year,” and is a recipient of the “Lifetime
Achievement Award” presented by the Land Development Council of
the Home Builders Association of Maryland. |
